CVG BAUXILUM, belongs to the enterprises group tutelaged by Corporacion Venezolana de Guayana. Due to be a nation enterprise, its shares are not freely negotiated at the stock exchange, nor at the International markets and its financing financial mechanisms must be approved by the Venezuelan State .

CVG BAUXILUM is the product of the melting made in the year 1994 between CVG INTERALUMINA and CVG BAUXIVEN inside of an up waters vertical integration process of the Metallurgical Alumina Production. Looking forward to the actual worldwide tendencies, in which the sector enterprises prefer the expansion and improvement of the settled capacities, before the creation of new enterprises principally due to the high inversion cost that this implies CVG BAUXILUM since its foundation, had always as one of its tasks, the increasing of its plant scale. For this reason, in 1992 the enterprise successfully ends its first expansion project which allowed it to move from a production capacity of 1.300 T 3 for year to 2000 T3/year.
